Special Weapons And Tactics - SWAT I (BTOC)

This approved seventy-plus-hour Basic SWAT Course will certify each student. The training days are long, extending 8+ hours each day. This course addresses and reinforces basic tactical concepts, movement, entry, and clearing using repetitive, force-on-force scenarios.

About the Event
This course requires moderate to high levels of physical fitness and the class learning objectives will fatigue the student. The student must be able to walk, run long distances, kneel, squat, bend, assume prone positions, and recover to any position
unassisted. Students should not attend that have bad backs, heart conditions, or any other physical limitations. You must currently be on a tactical team, or have a written recommendation from your supervisor.
Equipment List: Each student needs to bring:
➢ Wrap around eye protection ➢ Hearing protection (bring multiple sets of foam hearing protection) ➢ Body armor/tactical vest/kit ➢ Flashlight: weapon mounted and/or handheld with lots of spare batteries ➢ Duty pistol, 3 magazines, and holster – Ammunition: 500 Rounds ➢ A zeroed rifle, 3 magazines, Ammunition: 500 Rounds ➢ Groin protection (Small towel or athletic cup) to protect your groin area ➢ Long sleeve T-shirts or lightweight jackets (No red clothing – Instructors wear red) ➢ Gloves to protect hands from non-lethal training ammunition ➢ Throat protection (Towel) and groin protection (small towel) ➢ Hydration kit/Coolers with food, ice and drinks (we allow these items in the training area) ➢ Bring a Gas Mask: if you don’t have one we can help with supplying you ➢ Non-lethal training weapon (Glock Simunition© or similar) – if you don’t have one we will provide you with one.
Course Completion Requirements: 32 pushups in 1 minute, 32 sit-ups in 1, 1 mile run in full gear with rifle 12 minutes or less, 86 pistol qualification score, 86 rifle qualification score. (All requirements are based on APOST standards).
